Fearfully and Wonderfully made
Who we think we are many atimes is different from what God thinks of us. Many of us never earnestly dig deeper to find our real Identity , we don't understand why we were born in the first place and what is needed to help us achieve that purpose.
We mostly know who we are based on the description of people around us and circumstances we find ourselves in.
We live our lives trying to fit into the mold of the society we live in. A saying like of boys don't cry orr girls belong in the kitchen still apply in many societies hence there is still economic disparity between men and women.
The biblical story of a man named Jacob is an illustration of a man who didn't know who he is, he thought and considered himself less fortunate than his brother. He lived a life of competition and envy. He used scrubbulers means to fake his identity
The second story is of a man named Gideon who never knew who he is and the potential he carries. He was shocked and surprised to be called Mighty man of Valor. Gideon defined himself based on his previous defeats and failures. He has lost hope, found himself worthless and assumed a position of hopeless . He doubted himself and also doubted God's ability.
We are good enough to complete lacking nothing!
# God sees us as able and powerful because He created us so
# We are never too small or too broken to be used by God
# Our Failures and defeats are the tools used to sharpen and prepare us for the task ahead
# The challenge and obstacles we experience in life teaches us to be patient
# He teaches us to trust in His unconventional strategies to resolve problems - A 10 000 mighty army was reduced to only 300 men to fight and defeat the super power nation.
Therefore the key in knowing who we really are is to understand one's identity based on God's original design - the image and ambassador of the Most High God.
